About Us

Cape Cod Sailing School was founded in 2009, and is the only US Sailing Certified Sailing School on Cape Cod. We hold adult sailing classes every month through the summer out of Kingman Yacht Center, in Cataumet, Massachusetts which is in Red Brook Harbor, on the eastern shore of Buzzards Bay, not far from the east end of the cape cod canal. At Kingman Marine, we have the benefit of a small classroom and access to 4 sailboats of various sizes. Three instructors on staff hold US Coast Guard Captain’s licenses and are therefore qualified to take passengers on board. We follow the US Sailing curriculum, which begins with our most popular Basic Keelboat class for beginners in ‘big boat saling’

At this point we have more than 100 qualified students who have taken the course. In 2014 we added the Basic Cruising class which gives the students the opportunity to learn how to navigate from harbor to harbor including some longer trips. The interest in this course has been intense and we are hoping to offer it more often in 2015.

Private Lessons and Private Charters are also very popular and enable students and folks who just want to take the family out for a sail to take advantage of the wonderful facilities we have available.
